This is what we (mostly Dustin) have been doing for the past month or more. It was a long, interesting harvest this year. Dustin got a new combine; however, it did not work well for the first several weeks. I tried to take Kimber to the field as much as possible because he loved every part of harvest. He has since taken to playing with his combine, having it dump in the trailer and taking it from the trailer to the 18-wheeler. Here is a picture of the corn harvest.

Pop and Kimber on the gator. Kimber loves to "go fast" and Pop is always happy to oblige.
I love these next two pictures. You can see how much both love farming and each other. This is Kimber running toward his daddy about to get on the combine. The second picture is Kimber jumping off the combine to Dustin.
This is a picture of the bean harvest. Kimber had gotten so good at driving the combine that he knew when to swing the auger (the thing that takes the crop from the combine to the grain cart) and when to turn it off. Of course, he loves to push the buttons!
This year we decided to go for a makeover/sleepover party. Addie Lee loved the idea and I did too! We invited four of her friends for makeup and sleepover and family for pizza and cakes. Here is my birthday girl. I cannot believe it's been FOUR years! AAAHHHH!

We started by doing nails, hair, makeup and of course dress up clothes. Thanks to my sister, sister-in-law, and future sister-in-law for all the help! It was a real struggle for me to paint the toes! The girls loved all the stations. Addie Lee was most excited that she got to wear mascara!

We also had a crown piƱata filled with candy. Of course, this was a hit.

These are four of the five girls. Look how beautiful they are all dolled up and ready to parade around the house. Aniston had gone home by the time of these pictures.
This Barbie house is what Dustin and I gave her for her birthday. This was my sister's dollhouse when we growing up, so vintage! I did get new furniture to go inside. My sister and I had the best time going through the old furniture and other things. Many, many memories. We played with that house for probably about 10 years. Addie Lee has loved the house as well. The funny thing is that I was "hiding" it in Dustin's gun room. He accidentally left the door open one day that I was not here and the kids went in there and saw the house. When I got home AL said "I saw something in daddy's room". So, while they were in the bathtub I moved the house upstairs and when she went in there I tried to convince her she didn't see anything. My sister said that was mean; I thought it was creative!
I cannot believe it's been more than four years since I brought her home. One memory I have is getting in the truck to go home from the hospital and looking at Dustin saying "what do we do now?" It's a crazy feeling knowing that something so small is counting solely on you. She has grown up to be much more than I ever imagined. She's so sweet, beautiful, and kind. We are so blessed.Dustin & Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07723246337854755120noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084302901509422611.post-80461498119593350452012-08-30T20:41:00.000-05:002012-08-30T21:07:16.773-05:00Addie LeeWell, I know it's been a while but here is my post on my big girl.

1. She LOVES school. She cannot wait to start again. She's like me in that aspect.

2. She loves bacon. If she sees bacon on tv, smells bacon, smells bacon on someone else, or even thinks about bacon she wants some. This is just like her daddy. :)

3. She loves dancing. She tried gymnastics for a while but really only like dancing. She shows out on the stage every year and cannot wait to dance on "the big stage."

4. She is a wonderful big sister. She lets Kimber know what he should be doing all the time. Bossy some say, but I call it a good big sister.

5. She cannot wait for the new baby and she says she's going to be a great helper. I know she will!

6. She loves to dress up. This is seen all the time. She loves to do her makeup, hair, clothes and everything that goes with it.

7. She loves barbies. I love to just sit and watch her. She has such a wonderful imagination and always has some conversation going on among all her barbies.

8. Although she has about 30 barbies she thinks she needs more! This is from me! I loved barbies when I was a child.

9. She hates to take naps. It is a lengthy discussion everyday.

10. She has a very sweet nature. She loves everyone and wants to take care of everyone.

11. I love the way she prays at night. She always thanks God for everything to try to make her prayer as long as possible. She does not like to leave out anyone or anything. Also, when she's praying for someone to be healed or feel better she says "thank you for healing ____________" or "thank you for making ____________ feel better". It is so sweet, I wish we all had her faith.

12. She loves fruit.

13. If there was any confusion, the word "sugar" is pronounced "suga". That's right, no "r" on the end of that one!

14. She loves television. We do not watch tv too much at the house but when it's on she is tuned in to it. It's hilarious because she's just like her daddy! Of course, her favorite movies are princesses!

She'll always be my baby girl but she sure is growing up quickly. I'm so proud of her and the respect she has for others. She will start pre-k 4 next week and is so excited. I will post about her birthday soon. I'm so far behind!

Sisterly love. This picture was taken one night when she was dressed up as a princess and Kimber decided to dress as a prince. We found his rubber boots (you can't really see in this picture) and he wanted a shirt and pants. Thank goodness he settled on his Buzz Lightyear outfit. They danced and played Cinderella (where he "tears" her dress and chases after her when she loses her slipper). They play so well together (most of the time) and are so cute together.Dustin & Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07723246337854755120noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084302901509422611.post-28883164369034847212012-08-17T23:21:00.001-05:002012-08-17T23:21:40.331-05:00My BoyThere are so many things I want to remember about my children at this stage so I'm going to post a little about each one. Today is all about Kimber. I will post about my girl next.

1. Kimber is very structured. He likes things a certain way and does not like change. You can say he's like me. He likes a plan. Every morning he asks "so what we do today?" He wants to know what's going on as much as I do.

2. For the past few weeks we have had the same bedtime routine. I put him in his bed and go tuck AL in bed; he thens calls me back in his room as I pass and this is our conversation:

Kimber: I need tell you a secret.

Me: (I lean down so he can whisper to me) What is it?

Kimber: I need you...tickle me!

And so I do! I love it!

3. He refuses to wear anything but a t-shirt and shorts. A polo type shirt is not acceptable and don't even try to put a button-down shirt on him. I'll try ever now and then and his response is always the same: "I not like that". So, even to church, he wears a t-shirt. Not a battle I care to fight

4. He loves his daddy and loves to drive the combine. He likes to push all the buttons and make it work. He is actually pretty good at it. I think Dustin may have to give up his spot in the driver's seat soon.

5. He also is a mama's boy. He loves for me to hold him, tickle him, and just be with him. We don't' have to do anything special, he just loves me.

6. He is a very touch-sensitive person. When he's drifting off to sleep he will put his blanket in his mouth and proceed to rub it on his nose, arms, and each finger. It's a habit and I love it.

7. He doesn't really like to be around crowds. Again, probably from me.

8. Everytime he toots or burps he says "somebody burped/tooted", like it wasn't him. Then I'll say "who was it?" He'll fall out laughing and say "It was me!". May not sound funny but it's hilarious!

9. He's all boy!

10. He thinks his sister is the best thing in the world. He loves to do just what AL is doing. However, he also has a mind of his own and does not let her push him around. He likes to play with her toys (or take them from her) just so she can't play with them. Such a boy!

11. When he really wants something he very sweetly says "please mama/daddy please me have __________"

12. He loves to ask "why?" but my favorite is when he asks "why not we have ___________". I know that's incorrect grammar but it's so cute.

13. When he is done watching a movie in the car he wants me to hand him the book of new DVDs and also the DVD that comes out of the player. He needs to see that one before it is put into the case. Again, he's quirky and I love it!

14. He has two pair of shoes. Each time I ask him if he wants another pair of shoes he points to his feet and tells me "I already have shoes". I was so proud of him because when Addie Lee came home with her new Skecher light-up shoes he said "I want a boy pair". So, we went online and ordered him a pair of light-up shoes too. Now he has 3 pair! He refuses to wear any open-toed shoes because he tells me "those are girl shoes". No flip flops, no sandals!

Well we had an eventful Fourth of July. We did not have the DVD players in the car yet, so the kids and I had lots of conversation. On the way to my parents' house I explained why we celebrated the holiday. Not sure they soaked it all in but it was enough for Addie Lee to make me stop in the middle of their road so she could say the Pledge of Allegiance to the huge flag painted on my daddy's hangar door. Very patriotic. We then went swimming at Gran's house and lastly to friends' house for grub (which was delicious and I did not have to prepare or clean up!). Here is the Fourth of July queen:

I know the suspense is killing you, so on to the wedding. Well it was a wedding for Addie Lee and Uncle Sam. I was sleeping at the time but this is the translation from my sister (mine is the shortened version, if you know KiAnne!). Addie Lee was dressed up and had her veil and flowers and for about 15 minutes was talking to Uncle Sam (a stuffed one my mama puts out around the holidays). So KiAnne asked what she was doing and she answered "I'm getting married". So here are the pictures of her very first wedding:

She is obsessed with kissing on the lips and since the only way you can do this is to be married (yes, that's right, not before) she of course had to seal the deal with a kiss! Hilarious!

She is getting such an imagination and I love it! She can play with her Barbies for a long time (just like me).

Kimber refused to let me take any pictures of him, but he was dressed in the colors as well and looked very cute! Happy Independence Day! Yay! I tried to take a picture of the ultrasound because I don't have a scanner but that really didn't work out. But she is precious. Measuring just on time. Everything looks good.

We will name her Audrey. We don't have a middle name yet, but soon enough. Addie Lee went to the scan with us and was very intrigued by the pictures. I think she thought she would see pictures like we take, but she was excited it would be a girl. I'm sure she will show her how to be a princess!Dustin & Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07723246337854755120noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084302901509422611.post-84333198028747493852012-06-25T21:24:00.000-05:002012-06-25T21:24:39.946-05:00Our Girls Trip

For Christmas we surprised my mama with a girls trip to Savannah, GA. We "gave" her the gift on Christmas but didn't actually go to Savannah until April. Here are a few pictures of our trip; however, it cannot capture the fun we had, catching up we did (mostly my sister!), and all the food we ate!

The four of us at a famous house I cannot remember:

The first night we were in Savannah we took the "ghost tour". Sara June Wheeler was our tour guide and she said "it was MURDER"! I guess you had to be there but I will forever think that's funny!

We ate A LOT while we were there. One day we went to Ms. Wilke's. It was a round table style restaurant and the line starts forming outside pretty early. Here we are in line that morning:

The last night we ate at Paula Deen's restaurant. It was good. I had the chicken pot pie.

We also went to a 60s, 70s, and 80s show the last night. It was great. The thing I remember most is that they were pulling a few people on stage and my sister leaned over and said I can't get on stage because I didn't put on my lipstick. Yep, that's right. Then she told me she was wearing her "fat shirt". She is so funny.

This is the food from Ms. Wilke's restaurant. The food was "southern" and abundant. We sat at a table for 10 or 12 people and there were many bowls of different foods that you passed around. She is famous for her fried chicken. Of course, I did not try it but everyone said it was great. Here is a picture of some of the food:

Here we are at one of the 24 (I think) squares in town. Can't remember which one!
Addie Lee finished her first year of school. She learned so much this year. I was really impressed. This was the first year for our church to have a preschool and they did a wonderful job! Within the first 2 weeks she knew the pledge of allegiance. She now knows her numbers, letters, months of the year, can write her name, and so much more. She surprises me with new things every day. She LOVED going to school and is so excited to be in "Ms. Dee's" class next year.

Their end of the year program was wonderful. They did numbers, Bible verses, songs of letters and days of the week. It was great! Here are a few pictures from the night:

Yesterday we were talking about the impolite things people have said to us. Rebecca said "Growing up I always thought I'd enjoy being pregnant but I don't know anymore." So, for the few of you who read this I'm going to give some tips on what not to do or say to pregnant women!

Do NOT touch a pregnant belly without permission. This is my number one because I have a real thing about my personal space. This applies especially during the first trimester and into the first part of the second. If I cannot feel movement, you definitely cannot feel it! Also, I do not go up and rub on your belly, shoulders, or back so I expect the same courtesy. Again, some pregnant people do not mind you rubbing on their belly but I have a real thing about that!

Do NOT ask a woman if she is pregnant unless you already know she is that way. It's very embarrassing for someone to ask this to a woman who is not having a child.

On the same note, do not ask a woman when she is going to get pregnant. Pregnancy does not "just happen". You do not know their situations. There are many issues out there that affect pregnancy. You do not know if someone is trying to conceive or maybe had a miscarriage they are open about with you. PLEASE be sensitive to women because we are sensitive people!

Do not use any of the following to describe a pregnant woman: whale, blimp, cow, pig, bigger, large, about to pop,

Do not insist that she is having twins because "she is just SO big". You may politely ask if it's twins but do not insist multiple times that its twins because of her size.

Asking if I know "how that happens" is inappropriate. If you ask this question you may be embarrassed by my response. It's not rocket science!

Guessing the sex of the baby because of "where I'm carrying the weight" is not polite either. I know everyone likes to say women who are having boys carry the weight in their back side and thighs, but that's just not correct and not polite. If you say this I may have another response you will not like. I don't know what I'm having this time, but I know that I have gained much more weight in my boobs (with all pregnancies). So you may get a view of that!

Do not ask how much weight I've gained.

Do not tell me I look miserable or any synonym of that word.

Do tell me if you think I look like I feel good or have this "glow" people see. I feel fat at this point, so any positive comments are welcome. As you can see, any negative comment is remembered!

If you ask me about breastfeeding and I tell you I am not doing that do not judge me on the spot, try to sell me on breastfeeding, tell me all the negatives and things my child will lose because I'm not doing it. I think breastfeeding is a wonderful thing but it's not for me. I've had two children that turned out great and did not breastfeed. (Again, this is a personal choice that came after a lot you do not know. I think it's a wonderful thing for those who do that).

Any genuine advice is welcomed. While I have two children it does not mean that I know everything, so all thoughtful advice welcome.

A few comments given to either Rebecca or me (this includes all my pregnancies):

You are having a boy because your face is "all broke out" (not my terminology but the nice comment giver). Oh yeah girl, it's everywhere.

When I was 7 months with Addie Lee and riding the elevator to my 7 month appointment a woman asked "Are you going in to have your baby today?". I had to inform her that I had 2 months left before I was due and as a side note they do not deliver babies in a doctor's office but in the new place called a hospital.

I also had a woman at a restaurant I went to a lot insist on multiple occasions that I was having twins because I was so big. Hence the above faux pas.

There was a pregnant and a not pregnant in this situation where a woman said to the not pregnant (with both women standing there): "It looks like not pregnant has lost weight and pregnant has gained it all!". Very helpful!

I'm not saying you're fat but it's gonna be a boy because it's just in "that area".

While I was pregnant with my second I had someone tell me "I don't think anyone should have more than one child." (this coming from a person with two children).

If you have any fun comments to add, please let me know! This was meant to be fun so take it lightly. If you are offended by any of it that was not my intention. But please be mindful, especially of my personal space!

Dustin & Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07723246337854755120noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084302901509422611.post-209964377170945252012-06-12T13:15:00.001-05:002012-06-12T13:18:54.783-05:00Oh Boyor girl! That's right we will welcome Morris baby #3 in early December. I'm 14 1/2 weeks pregnant and feeling it! My belly is growing rapidly. We have been pretty busy here the past month. I went on a girls' trip (very relaxing), we attended 2 VBS, I did the recreation for our VBS, movies, gymnastics, birthdays and so much more. I will update on the kids soon. It seems like we've been busy but not many pictures.

On another note we got a rain last night and it was wonderful! We seemed to have been missing all the rains lately but last night we got one on all the crops. What a blessing!Dustin & Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07723246337854755120noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084302901509422611.post-68289541422868105042012-05-09T21:34:00.000-05:002012-05-09T21:34:21.295-05:00Kimber Updates

Kimber has been a busy bee as well. He is really growing up too fast. He is talking in sentences (sometimes I'm still guessing what he's saying but he's getting much better). He no longer calls his blanket a "yank" but he now says "blahn-et"; there is no more "tata" but now it's "thank you". It's really a little sad. He loves to say his prayers at night and wants to do absolutely everything his big sister does! He is also an animal lover, but that is a separate post!

Here are the two of them having a toast with their Gatorade at the pool. AL loves to swim and K loves to go and watch her swim. He does not like to get in the water though. He says "I not do that".

He is really growing up but is hitting his 2s. He needs a lot of reminders to be sweet, not hit your sister, and listen to your mother. Well, we've had an eventful few weeks. I've been to Savannah, GA and back and the kids have been super busy. So, just to catch up here are a few "Addie stories":

One day after school I decided to take the kids to the mall to ride the carousel (it had been raining for days and we had been stuck in the house) and eat a little chick-fil-a. We were on the interstate and Addie started screaming. I made her stop screaming and tell me what was wrong. This was her response: "I put a jewel in my nose!" Really?!? Yes, that's right. Luckily I was close to an exit so I took it and pulled over at a gas station. I tried many things (which I now know you should not do when something is up someone's nose) to get the "jewel" out of her nose. At this point, I had no idea what kind of jewel was up there but I knew it was WAY up there! So, I headed to daddy's office. My cousin Kylie (a nurse) was there waiting with a lot of tools. Addie Lee was so scared at this point. She was not crying but shaking. I think she was scared she would get a shot! Anyway, she laid down on the exam table and she was able to blow it out of the nostril and Kylie grabbed it with a tool. When anyone asked why she stuck it up her nose her response is "Well, it was in my carseat." Yes, there is no place to put things in your carseat other than up your nose! I'm not sure how all the junk got on the floor of my car! So, here is a picture of the jewel! It was actually quite large!

On a brighter day I decided to introduce my little girl to some spoiling. I took her to get her first pedicure! This is a wonderful little place that has special pillows, polishes, and sparkles just for little girls. Here she is in her spa chair:
This past Friday we went to see Toy Story 3: On Ice. The kids love Toy Story and had a blast. We had a wonderful time. Aunt Jan and Aniston came along as well. Aniston (15 months) was glued as well. Every character from Toy Story was there. It was great. The kids came home with a lot of souvenirs and to my surprise popcorn cost more than it does at the movies! Here is a pic I snapped before we left that morning. You can't tell in this picture but she is wearing her Jessie boots.
This last pic was just too cute. A pic of my little girl and her daddy. We were headed to a surprise 50th birthday party and they just looked too cute that I had to snap a picture.
A few stories:

We stayed at Lori's house while there was a wedding at ours over the Easter holiday. Lori made the kids some turkey sausage that was the freezer kind that you heat up in the microwave. Addie called me over to the table and said "If I have to eat this sausage I will throw up." Lori was close by and she heard. She said "What kind of sausage does your mama cook?" And her answer: "real sausage"! Hey, I may not be the best cook but my kids seem to like it!

I picked her up from school Monday and she whispered "Mama I made you something at school but I can't tell you what it is. It's a flower." I thought it was too sweet!

Last night we were saying our prayers and she likes to pray by herself and thank God for many, many things which usually include specifically named family members, teachers, and friends at preschool. But last night she thanked God for her "20 minutes of tv" she is allowed to watch before bed! Priceless!Dustin & Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07723246337854755120noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084302901509422611.post-15851187849058857362012-04-18T14:21:00.001-05:002012-04-18T14:24:21.866-05:00Easter, Farming, Yodeling and More
So I know we've been MIA for about a month. It's called "God's Little Princess Bible". If you have young girls it is wonderful. It is a little advanced for my three year old but she listens well. With every story it has some "princess" thing to do or a little story about God's little princess and how the story can be applied to real life. The other night we read a story about spreading the good news (Matthew 28). It also talked about using your feet to follow Jesus and spread the good news. The life application was to put your feet in a warm bubble bath, rub some lotion, and paint your nails. While you were pampering your feet you were to think about how you could follow Jesus and help spread the good news.

So, today I decided to do that with Addie Lee and remind her of the story.

ME: Do you remember what Jesus wants us to do with our feet?

AL: Yes, He wants us to wear slippers.

ME: No, remember when we read the Bible story the other night we talked about using our feet.

AL: Oh yeah, he wants us to wear socks.

I did go on to explain what the story told us to do but that was after I had a good laugh!Dustin & Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07723246337854755120noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084302901509422611.post-12802290702220031042012-03-27T10:56:00.001-05:002012-03-27T10:57:10.748-05:00Be careful little eyes what you seeOh, be careful little eyes what you see. For the Father up above is looking down with love; oh, be careful little eyes what you see. Addie Lee sings this song a lot at our house. It also says be careful little ears what you hear, little hands what you do and little feet where you go. The other day I walked into my room and found this:

She was sitting in my bed with my glasses on, "reading" her Cinderella book. She also loves to put on the same color dress as me, talk to her dolls like I speak to her, etc. Kids are such sponges. They want to be just like us. Therefore, it is our duty to set the example. We should not ignore them to play on our phone or the internet, we should not watch unlimited amounts of television while they are "playing" by themselves, we should not allow them to hear ugly or inappropriate things come from our mouth. We must guard our mouth and our actions and they want to be just like us.

It warmed my heart that she had this on. It's a way for her to show how much she loves me without speaking the words. I am blessed to have two wonderful children. It is our (Dustin and my) responsibility to train them up in the ways of the Lord.

On Sunday we heard from Deuteronomy 6 which gives this commandment in verse 5: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength." It continues in verse 7: "You shall teach them (the words commanded) diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."

Wow, what a large commandment we have been given as parents. I know I fail at this every day but I am trying and am improving. It is my prayer that I would help my children hear, say, do and go where God wants us to go. So, as parents, we need to be careful what we say and the actions we take because we are training these little precious children to do just as we do.

This is not a post directed at anyone but myself but I thought it might encourage others.Dustin & Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07723246337854755120noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084302901509422611.post-16816110420891282092012-03-22T19:56:00.000-05:002012-03-22T19:56:09.077-05:00He has been bitten...
by the farming bug! Kimber that is! Planting season started about 2 weeks ago and we have been on the farm almost every day. Kimber LOVES it! Here he is waiting on the planter to get to our end of the field so he can hop on and "help". Isn't he cute?

Here he is riding in "his" seat. One day, he was getting too much for Dustin to handle driving and he put him in the "buddy seat" and that's where he's wanted to be since. He even told me that was his seat and I could not sit there! I had to sit behind him on a console type thing (and yes, that is the way I describe most things farm related; I'm not great at the names of things but I'm trying to get better).
This scene melts my heart every time. I just love it. When Kimber sees his daddy getting off that tractor he runs toward him. So sweet. That boy loves his daddy; and, of course, he is his daddy's world.
Here he is riding in "his seat". At this point, I'm on the floor of the tractor. If you've never been on a tractor it's not really made for 3!
Since she got her costume she has asked me "when am I going to dance on the big stage?". I thought she would be scared and not dance last year. However, that was not the case. She loved the stage and cannot wait to get back there! Too funny!
The bracelet says "Friends". AL is so proud of that bracelet that she will not take it off, not even for a bath. She tells everyone Kaylee gave it to her and it says "good friends"! Kaylee's mama does not know where the bracelet came from, how Kaylee got the bracelet or how she knew what it said! A mystery, but it makes both girls so happy! They really are good friends.
It was interesting to say the least.

My grandparents have been married 60 years. My grandmother will turn 79 this Sunday and Pappaw will be 80 in April. They are a true testament to faith and love. They are very God centered and have always gone to church. My papaw told me a story one time. He said he went to college for one day at LSU and decided he had enough and wanted to come back to my mammaw. He doesn't talk much so to get that out of him was a lot. My mammas still teaches piano three days a week and my pappaw has his cows he tends to every day. They have four children, twelve grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. We are a truly blessed family. Here are some pics from yesterday:

You can see that Kaylee is crying. First, she slammed her finger in the door and was then promised she could hold Camille (the baby in the picture) and she did not get to do that. So she was upset. Kimber was actually doing good at this point. However, after Kaylee got a spanking he no longer wanted to cooperate. He only wanted to be with me! It's hard to get 11 to cooperate at one time!
Maybe it's just a word scramble!
Dustin & Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07723246337854755120noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084302901509422611.post-28691389919144036762012-02-02T16:29:00.000-06:002012-02-02T16:29:54.813-06:00Potty TrainingJust an update on the potty training. My little boy, or should I say big boy, is doing excellent. The first day we were like 2 for 8 (or worse, I can't remember). But since Monday, he has only had one tt accident and that was today. So, I think he's doing great! However, he has not learned about going number 2 in the potty. Any suggestions are welcomed! Every day he has gone in his undies.

On that same note, Addie Lee is a little upset that she cannot tt standing up! She asked if she could go like that and I told her no. She was most upset when Kimber was allowed to stand outside and do it! She tried to do it too, but to no avail! She also asked me if I could cheer for her when she goes to the potty! I thought that was priceless!!

She also fell into the toilet for the first time! We forgot to put the seat down and she had just woken up from her nap and she fell right into the potty...in her princess dress nonetheless!

Maybe that was TMI, but I figure you could have stopped reading at any point!Dustin & Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07723246337854755120noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084302901509422611.post-55532087879009193142012-01-31T10:52:00.000-06:002012-01-31T10:52:47.403-06:00What I'm LOVINGWe are so blessed as a family but here are a few things I am loving rights now:

Our Bible conference. I have truly been blessed these past two nights by our guest pastors. They have called us to stand up, fill the gap, and do what God has called us and prepared us to do. It has really hit home with me and I love it. God is so great! In my quiet time yesterday I read the following promise in Isaiah 30:21: "Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it,' Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left." I thought it was right on point! God promises us that He will give us the word if we are listening! Also, on Sunday morning Dr. EW preached on listening to God and in my SS class we had a lesson on finding our gifts God has given! God knows exactly how to put things together! I'm amazed daily that we are allowed to be in His presence! So, this is the main thing I'm loving right now!

I'm also loving my kids singing to Lion King at the top of their lungs! We have the movie in the car right now and we all sing "Circle of Life" and "Gonna be a Mighty King". None of us know the real words but that does not stop any of the three of us! It is hilarious! Mostly because the kids think they know the right words!

Michael Connelly books. I'd never read these books until I asked for a recommendation from a friend. She recommended these books and I read 2 on my trip and I'm on a third. This is the author who wrote the Lincoln Law!yer. They are very good books.

I love seeing my kids sleeping at night. Last night I checked on them before bed and it is just the most innocent thing to see both of my kids sound asleep in their beds!

I'm loving that we started potty training and Kimber has gone 3 for 3 today! Yay! We started yesterday so I think he's doing great!

I love that I have a godly husband. I know he has enjoyed the Bible conference as much as I have and I love that!

Hope y'all are having a great week!
Dustin & Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07723246337854755120noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084302901509422611.post-22121409038022177192012-01-24T15:58:00.000-06:002012-01-24T15:58:35.669-06:00Where have I been...
St. Lucia....yes, this gorgeous place:

About 4 months ago Dustin asked if I wanted to take a trip to St. Lucia, just the two of us. So, of course, my answer was YES! We left last Sunday for a week of fun in the sun. We arrived Monday afternoon in St. Lucia and our first ride was on this big chopper:

We got a wonderful view of the country from the helicopter. We also saw banana plantations, the tallest peak on St. Lucia, the rainforest and the most memorable, a marijuana farm. The pilot said he did not know if it was the "good stuff" because they randomly drug tested the pilots. I was thankful for that! We took a 12 minute helicopter ride, as opposed to a 2 1/2 hour bus ride from the airport to the resort. The first night we arrived they had a "beach party" that offered the following entertainment:

You did see that correctly. That is a man doing tricks with fire. I was very impressed. He was very talented. He could also limbo with fire and the lowest limbo he did is one I'm certain I could not even lay down under! They also pulled me from the audience to dance and limbo! I was the first one. I'm pretty sure they said "Ok, let's find a white girl who cannot dance!" They picked perfectly! But I had fun with it anyway!

The next day we climbed a mountain (ok, I'm calling it a mountain). There was a national forest beside our resort that was the lookout point for the English. It was a large fort that still had cannons and things. It was very interesting. This is a pic of us at the top. I do not know why the pic is turned the wrong way! You can also see that I have on a necklace. On the way into the park we were stopped by some locals and bought two necklaces, a palm leaf hat, and a palm leaf basket.

The other days we mostly laid around the beach and pool and read. It was quite relaxing. Here we are on the last night. We went to a neighboring resort and ate "blackanese" food as they called it! It was actually Japanese cooked by locals!

The cars in St. Lucia mostly look like this pimped out van. Dustin and I called it the Shaggy Wagon (Scooby-Doo!). He was very proud of me taking this pic! Also, the roads are very narrow and windy.

We also rode the helicopter back to the airport on Saturday. This is a view from the chopper. I must say this experience was not as pleasant. The pilot wanted to give us a good look at the rainforest so we were flying very low and that did not sit well with my stomach. I'm pretty sure I could have reached my hand out the window and touched the rainforest. I kept thinking that he told me there were 4 types of snakes in the rainforest, two being deadly. If we go down, I won't be very good at surviving in a rainforest! I do not like snakes!
We had a wonderful trip and it was great to spend time with my hubs. However, it was so sweet to see this:
